Roger's Gardens is almost exclusive selling organic and natural products and the Pharm series is among our most popular. In fact, we created quite a stir in the local newspaper when our nursery manager and rosarians talked about these this summer.
Products include insecticides, miticides and fungicides. All of the ingredients are organic, natural and the highest quality on the market. Even the "carriers" (the inert ingredients not list on most labels) are organic and natural.

Giant White Squill Bulb

Roger's Gardens introduced this bulb to southern California gardeners several years ago and created quite a stir. We're all about big bulbs and especially easy bulbs. Giant Squill is at the extreme or both counts.
The bulbs are huge, the size of a large grapefruit. A true Mediterranean bulb, after its first season Giant squill is perfectly happy with rainfall - no extra irrigation is necessary.
The bulbs are grown by a friend of ours who farms non-irrigated land in northern San Diego County. He grows these for the cut flower trade, where the individual flower stalks, to five feet tail, go for $10 or more.
In the beginning the stalks are straight, but as they mature over a full month, they develop unusual twists and curls. Giant white squill produce wide, attractive leaves from November through May, are dormant during mid summer and flower in August or September.

Owner Annie Hayes began the business in her Richmond backyard in 1989. At that time, she was working as a plant buyer at a Berkeley area nursery. "I would dream of plants," she recalls. "I knew I wanted to sell plants in the green state -- before they bloom-- because they grow so much better in the garden." But, she found, nobody would buy seedlings like that. "So I had to make identification signs with pictures of the plants in bloom." Sales bloomed too. After 16 years, Hayes says she is still an "insatiable plant lover."

Guy Wolff Pottery

Guy Wolff has been making traditional pottery, in Connecticut, for over 30 years. Guy has kept alive the best traditions of 18^th and 19^th century pottery for the garden, at times blending contemporary designs with traditional forms.
